I've been given a wonderful gift - a year of web hosting on a decent server. I can host my gallery, not have to worry about the nudity or bondage, link
people to it directly, and all the other good things. I also put a forum there, and I've decided to open it up so people can start discussions instead of
just listening to me rattle. I even have my own personal domain name! (Okay, that I sprung for myself.)
I left Blogger because they didn't have a gallery and they set things up so that if SOME people didn't like my site, OTHER people wouldn't be able to find it. Not sure if that ever happened or not, but I did notice a sudden drop in random traffic.
I use ArtZone, which is DAZ's version of myspace, which means it sucks horse cock just as much. I have a 900 image limit in the gallery, which is a lot, but I can't fucking link anyone to it! I have to "invite" them to join ArtZone and friend me. How goddamn useless is that? I'll tell you - it's completely useless. I can't even get the people who know me offline to do it, let alone prospective clients. I suspect I'm only still with it so I have something to complain about.
Lastly, there's Yuku. Oh, Yuku, you were so promising. You didn't have a gallery limit and you allowed everything on this side of porn. You didn't allow image hotlinking, but you allowed linking to the gallery. Then you added a 15MB limit. Worse, you shrunk the motherfucking images! Gee, you want to crop my thumbnails for me too?
The final straw though, was fucking up the look of the forum/blog/whatever. The page. You totally blew the goat on this one. You really screwed the pooch. Adding insult to injury, it is the ugliest motherfucking design I've ever seen. You can't be serious when you say "our users asked for this". Yeah, all the people with custom page designs asked to have their work thrown away. We said "fuck us in the ass and use our blood as lube". Right.
Well, anyway, you can now find me at joel-wideman.com. Sure it's a bit pretentious to have your own name as your domain name, especially when you put up a forum dedicated to yourself, but it's easy to remember. The forum itself will still be called "Phobetor is my muse", which is how I always wanted it.
